More than 60 years ago Maurice Kain began as a drapery and upholstery fabric company. The company continues to be a household name amongst New Zealanders and Australians and a respected name in the industry. 

Firmly established as one of Australasia’s  leading wholesalers of soft furnishing fabrics, Maurice Kain is one of the largest textile converters. A recognised strength of the company is the ability to reach on trend and on time delivery of soft furnishing fabrics to the market.

The complexity of the Maurice Kain Brand is demonstrated by the diversity of its trading divisions which include drapery, ready-mades, sheers and linings.
Previously, the various divisions operated from separate locations around Auckland. Now, they are all located at a business complex in Airport Oaks.

Since the acquisition of Maurice Kain in 2006 by the Basford Group, this has created the opportunity for diversified distribution into Australia.

Basford Brands now distribute many products in both New Zealand and Australia – Sekers, Filigree, Claremont and Filigree Blinds.

The showrooms are a vital part of our business acting as the face of Maurice Kain to our customers as well as displaying innovative and creative design ideas for our fabrics. 

Trade customers and the public are welcome to visit our large showrooms where they can view complete ranges and take samples out on loan.

Our specialist showroom teams are available to look after the needs of all our customers and to assist with samples, colour and design.
