Linings can be used with any sheer or solid face fabric and add weight and fullness to the look of your curtains. They create a protective layer that faces the window and will be seen from the outside when the curtains are closed. Linings not only prolong the life of your curtains and other furnishings by protecting the contents of your home from harsh UV rays, but they also provide a multitude of thermal benefits to your home.

There are 3 main types of curtain lining available. Each type has its own features and benefits. All Filigree Linings have an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) rating, with most achieving a rating of 50+, the maximum available.

BLOCKOUT COATED

Blockout coated linings have coating layers applied to the back of the fabric to provide superior thermal, light and noise insulation. They will block over 99% of sunlight when curtains are closed and prevent harmful UV rays from damaging carpet and furniture.

Sunliner

Sunliner has a poly/cotton face with a dry look with a 4-pass blockout coating. It is available in 2 neutral shades and in varying widths to suit the window size.

Thermoguard

Thermoguard has a polyester sanded face that offers a subtle sheen. The lining is coated with a deluxe 4-pass blockout and has the softest drape of all the coated lining products. It is available in 3 neutral shades and in varying widths to suit the window size. There is an option to buy Thermoguard treated with a Fire-Retardant finish and also Thermoguard Thermaldrape™ 1-pass, for a lighter weight option.

Eclipse

Eclipse offers the softest drape blockout lining on the market, while still giving a full UPF 50+ rating. It is available in 2 neutral shades at 150cm wide.

Charlotte

Charlotte is a stiffened lining. It is used when making lined roman blinds, as its added stiffness allows it to provide the structure needed for the blind to sit nicely.

Coloured Lining

There is an increased demand for the use of coloured lining. These can be used when having a colour visible at the window from the outside of the house is desirable. A fashion forward trend in window furnishings is to use colour-matched lining layered behind a sheer front curtain to provide an interesting extra element and offer privacy at night. We offer the following coloured blockout lining sin our range:

Precision

Precision is a blockout coated lining with an acryclic flock coating. Available in a huge range of 23 colours colours, from neutrals and taupes through to greys and charcoals. Precision is 300cm wide, with colours White, Ivory & Off White also available at 150cm and 320cm wide.

Simplicity

Simplicity is a silicone-coated coloured lining. The silicone coating has all the same thermal, light and noise blocking properties, with the added benefit of being machine washable. It is available in the same 23 shades as Precision at 320cm wide, with colours White, Off-White and Ivory also available at 150cm.

UNCOATED

Uncoated linings are lighter in weight and will therefore hang in softer waves. They still allow a small amount of ambient light to come thorough when the curtains are closed. Uncoated linings have the added benefit of being machine washable, provided that the face curtain fabric is also washable.

Luxury Line Deluxe

Luxury Line Deluxe is a cotton-rich sateen fabric. It is available in Off-White in 150cm & 300cm widths.

Ultra Lining

Ultra Lining is a cotton-poly blend uncoated lining fabric that is ultra versatile. It is available in Off-White at 300cm wide.

Interliner Deluxe

Interliner is used as an extra layer sandwiched between the curtain and lining fabrics. Sometimes known as bumph, it is a soft cotton flannel that provides added thermal and noise blocking properties. Interliner is best used in very cold climates or where outside noise is excessive.

TRIPLE WEAVE

Triple weave is a technologically advanced fabric that has the blockout element of the fabric woven into it, as opposed to applied to the back as in a coated lining. Three layers of fabric are woven together, a face layer, a black blockout layer, then a back layer. Triple weave fabrics can be used as both a lining and a face fabric. They are washable and inherently Fire Retardant. They are ideal to use in humid environments as they are anti-fungal and mold resistant.

Twilight

Twilight is 300cm wide and available in 15 fashion neutral colours.
