It might be tempting to think that noise isn’t a serious health issue, after all, it’s just noise. It won’t kill us … right? Well, maybe.

Exposure to prolonged or excessive noise has been shown to cause a range of health problems ranging from stress, poor concentration, productivity losses in the workplace, and communication difficulties and fatigue from lack of sleep, to more serious issues such as cardiovascular disease, cognitive impairment, tinnitus and hearing loss.

Internal sources of noise like kids, tv & electronic games, pets & a home office environment can be all deadly contributors to the above.  I know what you are thinking... "well it's hard to eliminate these types of noise from my environment", you are exactly right! But, if like many people are now having to work from home or spend a large proportion of your time at home, the best thing can do is manage it effecively.

"Flow-on effects of tiredness, impaired memory and creativity, impaired judgement and weakened psychomotor skills"

The most obvious is interrupted sleep, with its flow-on effects of tiredness, impaired memory and creativity, impaired judgement and weakened psychomotor skills. Research has shown that people living near airports or busy roads have a higher incidence of headaches, take more sleeping pills and sedatives, are more prone to minor accidents, and are more likely to seek psychiatric treatment.

Thankfully, if you are someone that suffers from the above problems, there are ways to help the situation. Avoiding expensive renovations like installing acoustic panels, adding padded sheeting to your inner walls or simply moving house, we have the fastest most cost effective solution for you on the market.

Our scientifically tested acoustic fabric is designed to reduce the reverberation or echo in a room. The fabric construction, and the yarn used, allows for excellent sound absorption of the sound waves that travel throughout your home. Although not soundproof, Acoustic fabric will improve the quality of sound within a room by decreasing the reverberation of the echo without needing to invest in expensive panels and insulation.

"Our acoustic fabrics achieve a NRC of 0.66!"

We commissioned an engineering firm to have Phonic and Audible measured for their Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) under the ISO 10534 Part 2. This measurement is designed to quantify the amount of sound the curtain will absorb. A value of 0 is equal to no sound absorption (i.e. concrete),whereas a value of 1 means complete sound absorption. The higher the coefficient, the higher the amount of sound is absorbed, leaving less to transmit into the environement. Our acoustic fabrics achieve a NRC of 0.66.

Using Acoustic Fabric does not mean you have to sacrifice on look either! From a design point of view, because we use a triple weave base, the draping capabilities are excellent.

With all the benefits that come from using acoustic fabrics, it really is the most cost effective sollution to start improving you health today.
