Basford Brands has a serious commitment to conduct business in a manner that minimises the impact of our operations on the environment.

We partner with mills and suppliers who have a similar commitment to environmentally and socially responsible practice.

We are members of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation (APCO), whose mission statement is ‘Smarter Packaging. Less Waste, Cleaner Environment’. We re-use as much plastic wrap from our fabric rolls as possible and recycle the remainder. Our major customers return the cardboard inner tubes for re-use, and all other cardboard, paper and printer toners are recycled. All of our fabric samples and ‘short ends’ are donated to charity organisations for re-use.

Basford Brands shares the responsibility for environmental management with all our employees who have a commitment to continually improve our environmental performance. We periodically review our policy to see how we can improve how we operate.

Basford Brands supports the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® initiative.

The Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished, and finished textile products at all processing levels, as well as accessory materials used.

These fabrics have been tested for harmful substances and are found to comply with all required criteria. This label also represents that the fabric supplier complies with the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification for environmentally friendly production facilities.
