There are many different types of readymade curtains in the Filigree range which are suited to various rooms of the home according to design, function and environment. Fabrics fall into varying categories, and you will find yourself deciding on design, colour or application, depending on where the fabric will be used.

See here for a guide to the different types of fabric which are available, and how they can best be used.

DECORATIVE JAQUARD FABRICS

Due to the highly technical weaving looms, jacquard fabrics are usually textured fabrics with intricate with patterns and designs including stripes, florals, paisleys, damasks as well as two-dimensional textures.

Decorative jacquard patterns create a bold statement in a room and are often used to co-ordinate and blend with the range of colours that may already be present in furniture, flooring and paint.

They are also a great way of lifting a neutral colour palette creating a warm, inviting look.

PRINTED FABRICS

When it comes to printed fabrics, the designs are endless. There are no restrictions at all, therefore designs can be as simple as a stripe or as complex as a hand painted watercolour floral. Printed fabrics generally incorporate many colours and shades making it even easier to co-ordinate curtains with existing decor.

Recent trends have seen most printed curtain fabrics on a triple weave basecloth, due to the smooth surface resulting in a vibrant and defined print.

PLAINS

Plains fabrics generally feature one colour with textures being the most popular style. Textured fabrics look great in any home and compliment any décor. Plain fabrics have the advantage of enhancing other features of the room rather than taking the focus and are a great way to make the room flow and feel harmonious.
